Short Takes VII

He's been sleeping most of the day.
He'll wake up for a couple of minutes, then go back to sleep.

I'm letting him just rest.
He's under the blanket his Aunt made for him.

So far, today is much more calm. No Police, no Crisis Response Team today. No Hospice check.
Just his Aide and me.

I am thankful beyond words for my friends.

Pic is of Wash standing in his TARDIS (bathrobe) before his shower the other day. The swelling from the steroids is pretty intense, but he is smiling.

I had a terrible day. But, it passed. Today is new.
I am doing my best. Honestly, I am.

  2. Your words made me tear up, again, Tashi. I'm so sorry that you had a terrible day but that it passed and today is new. You Are doing your best, under the most difficult of time in your life. You are a hero, as are all caregivers who fight the good fight daily 24/7. I have such respect for you and wish you every bit of happiness that comes your way. I don't know if I could have done what you are doing, at your age, although I hope I would have just some of the courage that you have. Lot's of hugs and prayers for you and for your wonderful husband.

  3. It makes ME feel good, Tashi, that WASH feels good when he responds to//enjoys the "tactile" feel of fabric............ e.g., the blanket that his Aunt made for him; and his soft, 100% cotton terry cloth TARDIS bathrobe from the ~ *w.o.n.d.e.r.f.u.l.* ~ folks at ThinkGeek.com!!

Although soft *fabrics* and soft *words*............ (i.e., the senses of touch and hearing, which~~near the end~~tend to stay with us the longest)............ don't always "work"............ sometimes, however, soft *fabrics* and soft *words* are the ONLY things that actually do "work," you know............ during these long, hard, terrible days............ that poor you & Wash are going through now.

'Just n.e.v.e.r. forget............ that you & Wash are n.e.v.e.r. forgotten, Tashi.
